Asheville and Western North Carolina Organizations Helping After Hurricane
Here is one comprehensive list:
Catastrophic impacts from Hurricane Helene devastate Appalachia < Appalachian Voices (appvoices.org)
Individual Organizations that help the community:
Manna FoodBank (Their main facility got flooded, but they are still doing lots of work around the area distributing food.)
Beloved Asheville (I have seen they are doing tons of work distributing food and water)
https://belovedasheville.com/get-involved/
Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry (In the times I have worked DoorDash, I have delivered tons of food for them to people in need and they are a great organization. I am not practicularly religious, but I am impressed with their work.)

Homeward Bound (I know they have done great work with people that don’t have a home.)
Mountain Projects (Another solid organization)
North Carolina Community Foundation (Another great organization)

Operation Airdrop (They have been doing a lot of work here in the last couple of days.)

Mountain Mule Packer Ranch (They are just such a total anachronism that is needed that I had to include them.)
Colaborativa La Milpa (As a Latina, I felt they had to be included as well.)
Animal Rescue Organizations:
Asheville Humane Society (They are working like crazy the last few days to help animals.)

Sister Kitten (They have been also doing tons of work to help animals too.)

Esther Neonatal Kitten Alliance (I volunteered for a little bit with this organization, and they are totally awesome. If you feel like saving kittens, this is the place.)
Brother Wolf (My son adopted his kitty from here. They are wonderful. I love going to visit. Their whole facility was destroyed by the hurricane. They desperately need help to continue their work.)
FurEver Friends Animal Rescue (They are also working like crazy to rescue animals.)

Mountain Pet Rescue (They have been working like crazy to help animals too.)

Welcome to the WNC Nature Center - WNC Nature Center (wildwnc.org)
Western North Carolina Regional Livestock Center (They are supporting farmers and livestock during this difficult time.)
